  • Leadership Events Junior Associate // Women Leaders in Sports - Kansas City, MO

    Headquartered in the lively Crossroads District of Kansas City, Missouri, Women Leaders in Sports is the premier leadership organization for women working and leading across the sports industry. Women Leaders is building a powerful community of leaders working in sports with over 6,500 members representing 600+ college institutions, sports teams, and sports business brands nationwide.

    Women Leaders is seeking applicants for a Leadership Events Junior Associate to join the team for 2026. This is a one-year, full-time position with an annual salary of $32,000, plus access to 401K with employer match. The Junior Associate position offers access to benefits, which can be utilized at the employee's own expense if needed.

    Reporting to the Chief Experience Officer, this position will support all leadership programming and event initiatives. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:  

    Leadership Event Coordination: 

    • Assist with the logistics and planning of in-person events and programming.
    • Prepare, pack, and ship items for off-site events.
    • Create and distribute surveys to event participants; collect and organize responses to share with the Women Leaders team.
    • Support the Coordinator of National Events in executing and coordinating all leadership programming, including but not limited to the National Convention, National Cocktail & Connection events, and receptions.
    • Help manage Women Leaders Committees and Circles, as needed.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Membership to contribute to the Rising Stars Circle.
    • Sort and manage the inventory of event items and gifts.
    • Assist with the execution of various projects related to the Women Leaders National Convention.
    • Provide support for other special projects and events as needed. 

    Internal Operations: 

    • Administrative tasks including email responses, member support, collaboration with Women Leaders' staff, and general office assistance, printing, and mailings.
    • Additional tasks as assigned. 

    Preferred Qualifications and Qualities

    • Bachelor’s degree required 
    • Demonstrated interest and knowledge working within the sports industry and women's leadership 
    • An optimist who sees challenges as opportunities and believes everything is “figure-out-able”.
    • A highly organized, reliable task master who takes pride in accurate, efficient work.
    • Demonstrated success operating independently as well as being part of a team, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills  
    • Excellent organizational skills with proven attention to detail  
    • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment  
    • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
    • Experience with productivity tools (Microsoft Office, Zoom, Monday, Google, project management platforms, CRMs).
    • Highly coachable and hungry for feedback to get better and excel in the role.
