Play an integral role in enhancing the student-athlete experience by supporting WSU student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence in the classroom, community, and beyond! This position will report to the Assistant AD for Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS), supporting the development and execution of various student-athlete development programs and events. Ideal candidates for this position will be: 1) able to thrive independently and collaboratively, 2) committed to gaining meaningful, hands-on experience in student-athlete support services (specifically in student-athlete development), and 3) interested in personal and professional development opportunities, with consistent support and supervision from SASS staff members. With primary oversight of student-athlete development and community engagement initiatives/services, ideal candidates for this position will be: 1) able to successfully manage tasks and projects independently, 2) growth-oriented, with ambition to improve and expand upon current programming, and 3) eager to build meaningful and authentic relationships with athletic department and community stakeholders. The Student-Athlete Development & Engagement GA will be appointed for a two-year term, with continuation into the second-year contingent upon satisfactory academic progress and a positive performance evaluation from the immediate supervisor. The graduate assistant will receive a tuition waiver (up to 18 credits per year for a maximum of 36 credits over two years) and a total annual stipend of $10,000. Graduate assistants must be enrolled in a WSU graduate program. Anticipated start date for the positions will be July 30th, with the potential for a mutually agreed upon earlier start date and summer employment.
